About Us

The Company

The Appliance Warehouse are an industry-leading mail-order retailer of electrical appliances for the kitchen. With a focus on detailed product knowledge, the company specialises in providing a complete supply and fitting service for all domestic kitchen appliances.

The Appliance Warehouse is part of a group of companies dedicated to maintaining high levels of service and customer satisfaction within the domestic appliance industry and has grown within the past few years to be a successful service provider to housing associations, property management companies, the general public and local businesses.

Our group of companies consists of appliance service centres, a reworking factory on behalf of Electrolux group, retail premises and The Appliance Warehouse Online. Across the group of companies, we employ in excess of 120 staff, many of whom have considerable experience within the industry and a vast knowledge of electrical appliance products.

In 2007 we launched our flagship Showroom in Chelmsford. The Showroom, which is open to 6 days a week, has a wide range of products on display from all the top manufacturers. Our expert advisors are happy to discuss your requirements and help you to decide the best appliances for your kitchen. You can view more information about the showroom here.

Environmental Policy

The Appliance Warehouse is committed to protecting our environment for future generations and therefore we will always recommend the most energy efficient appliances. Where possible, we also dispose of old appliances and unwanted packaging at recycling centres. The featured products recommended by The Appliance Warehouse have been carefully selected on the basis of value for money, energy consumption and the environmental policies of their manufacturers - always favouring companies who actively promote their commitment to a sustainable future.

Company Aims

“Our aim is to be the leading supplier of domestic electrical appliances to homes, by providing our customers with expert, friendly advice, unbeatable value for money and highly competent, professional installations. The Appliance Warehouse aims to lead the industry in responsible retailing through sustainable practice and dedication to promoting energy efficiency.”

Energy Efficiency Endorsement Scheme

The Appliance Warehouse is registered with the Energy Saving Trust’s Energy Efficiency Endorsement Scheme, which makes us eligible to use the Energy Efficiency Recommended logo on all of our trading material and promotional merchandise.

Where you see this logo, you can be confident that the appliance meets at least the minimum requirements in energy consumption to be endorsed by The Energy Saving Trust.

Corgi Registration

When purchasing any gas appliance from The Appliance Warehouse, you will be given the option to have the appliance professionally installed by one of our gas engineers. Before you order your product, there are a few things that you should be aware of regarding gas safety and the law:

You are legally obliged to ensure that any gas installation in your home is performed by a Corgi-registered gas engineer. You may be breaking the law if you neglect your responsibility in this area. It is also a requirement of the appliance manufacturer that it is installed legally and professionally and your manufacturer's guarantee may be invalidated by failing to ensure that your gas installer carries a current registration with Corgi. Always look for the logo and valid registration number.

The Appliance Warehouse is a Corgi-registered gas installer and will only ever use registered engineers in the installation of gas appliances. It is a legal requirement that any gas appliance that is installed in a domestic abode is installed in accordance with Health & Safety Executive (HSE) Directives in connection with domestic gas safety. In line with these directives, our gas work is continually monitored by Corgi, the national watchdog for gas safety in the United Kingdom, to ensure that our installers are operating in the safest and most professional manner possible.

We are legally required to inform Corgi when we have supplied and installed a gas appliance in a domestic abode. This procedure is called Corgi Notification and is listed as an optional extra when purchasing a gas appliance from this site. If you select the installation service for your gas appliance, we will register the gas installation with Corgi. Following the completion of the works, you are not required to take any further action, until you receive correspondence from Corgi. You will receive a safety certificate (called a Declaration of Safety) from CORGI after a gas appliance has been installed. Please keep this safe as it proves the appliance has been installed by a professional. It will also form an essential part of the Home Information Pack, a legal requirement in England and Wales. This came into force in 2007. Should you require any repairs under the terms of the manufacturer's guarantee, your service engineer may ask to see your Declaration of Safety prior to performing any repairs.

For more information about the introduction of the Home Information Pack visit the website for the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister. The Scottish Executive is introducing a similar initiative for householders in Scotland called “Single Survey” scheme, for further information visit www.scotland.gov.uk

If you would like to verify our registration status, click here to be directed to the Corgi Gas Safety website. Our registration number is: 205943.

Unregistered installers are dangerous, breaking the law and should be stopped. If you are aware of non-registered gas installers operating in your area, click here to report them to Corgi.
